Seaport Wedding in Mystic, Connecticut | Julia + Iain

Julia and Iain’s Mystic Seaport wedding at Latitude 41 is a story of love, laughter and two families joining together to celebrate these two.  A story that began on Match.com, creating the type of connection that makes people want to follow where it leads.  A story that led to a first date in Old Town Alexandria at an oyster bar where Julia and Ian shared oysters, scotch, and cigars while listening to live blues music at The Two-Nineteen.  A story that culminated in Iain devising an epic proposal plan while on a vacation to Jamaica, which I’m going to let him tell now…

“I had it planned to find a ring, setup a day and find the right moment to propose.  On our first day out shopping I found the ring and made a deal for the jeweler to customize it and bring it by the resort two days later.  We made reservations at the fine dining restaurant of the resort and before dinner, a storm blew threw the area.  Julia and I had retreated to our room’s balcony to play cards while enjoying the Jamaican Rum Cream we were sipping in our coffee.  I left the room while retrieving more rum cream, met the Jeweler in the lobby of the resort, examined the ring, made the purchase, refilled the rum, and returned to the room.  We then continued to play cards.

That evening we enjoyed a great dinner and afterwards I suggested we take a walk along the beach.  There we walked along the beach to the edge of the pier.  I had found my moment!  I said ‘Look honey, I think I see dolphins!’  In her excitement, I dropped back behind her, bent down on one knee, and pulled out the ring.  When she turned around her eyes sparkled in the moonlight as she began to cry in happiness.  I asked her to marry me, and she said YES!!”

After spending time with J+I it’s clear that this was the perfect proposal for them.  They are a couple who loves adventure and even more, spending time with each other.  The type willing to bike ten miles on beach cruisers just to jump in canoes and paddle back through class three rapids and multiple waterfalls to get back to the car but also the type to cuddle up in the rain together while sipping coffee and playing cards.  The type who’s love knows no bounds.  The type of people I’m proud to call clients, and even more friends.  I love you guys and am so thankful that this crazy universe brought us together.  From the bottom of my heart I wish you happiness always and can’t wait to watch where this journey leads.
